Crock Pot Beef Stew

2 lbs stew meat
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup gingerale
1 pkg. onion soup mix
1 - 4 oz jar mushrooms, drained (optional)
4 potatoes, peeled and cut into large pieces
1 lb. carrots, peeled and cut into 1 inch chunks
pepper to taste
1 10 oz box frozen peas

Combine all ingredients, except the peas, (DO NOT
brown meat and DO NOT dilute soup with water)
together in a crock pot. Mix well.  Cover. Cook on low 10 to 12  hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours or until vegetables are tender.  Mix in the frozen peas, turn off the crock pot and let stand 15  minutes, allowing the peas to cook in the hot stew.
Serve.
