| Meatball Subs 1 recipe or jar of your favorite marinara or spaghetti sauce 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef 1/2 cup minced onion 3 cloves garlic, minced 1/2 minced green pepper 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp.pepper 1 tsp. oregano 1 egg 1/4 cup of the sauce you intend to use 3/4 to 1 cup bread crumbs 1/4 cup parmesan cheese Hoagie Rolls Mozzarella cheese Prepare or heat you marinara sauce. Combine well, form into walnut sized balls, place on a baking sheet and cover with foil. Refrigerate for 1 hour. You can then toss the meatballs into the pot of hot marinara or spaghetti sauce and simmer for 1 hours or you can cook first in a skillet or in the oven. To Fry: Heat 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil or vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the meatballs for about 15-20 minutes or until browned on all sides. Transfer to the pot of hot sauce and simmer for 30 minutes. To Bake: Preheat oven to 375. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Transfer into simmering marinara or spaghetti sauce and let simmer for 30 minutes. Serve on sub rolls and top with mozzarella cheese. Marinara Sauce |
