When I was growing up, my mother always made this salad dressing. We called it "Mayonnaise Dressing" even though she used Miracle Whip, which in our house, was the only mayonnaise I ever knew. It was my all time favorite salad dressing and I now call it my "House Dressing". Very basic, but you can take it in any direction you like, depending on what you're serving it with. It doesn't get much simpler than this. 1 cup Miracle Whip or mayonnaise 2 T vinegar, your choice of wine, cider or white 1 T sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper Combine all ingredients in a jar, replace the lid and shake until blended. Add a tablespoon or two of chopped fresh herbs of your choice if desired for a special touch. |
