| Chicken ala King 6 T butter 1/3 cup flour 1/4 cup dry white wine 1 cup chicken broth 1 3/4 cups milk 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper pinch of nutmeg 2 cups cooked chicken, cubed 1/4 cup pimientos, drained 4 oz. can mushrooms, drained In a saucepan, melt the butter. Stir in flour. Cook for 1 minute. Whisk in the wine and chicken broth, whisking constantly until thickened. Stir in the milk, salt, pepper and nutmeg. Simmer for a few minutes, then add the chicken, pimento and mushrooms. Heat through. Serve over toast points, puff pastry shells or inside a cream puff shell. |
