I make these for my dog and also give them to friends for their dogs and they just love them! The recipe makes a large batch of treats, so if you want to make a smaller batch, you can find the recipe for a half batch below. You can also substitute part of the wheat flour with white all-purpose flour if you like, it works just as well. 5 cups whole wheat flour 1 cup milk 2 eggs 10 T vegetable oil or bacon fat 1 pinch onion or garlic powder 1 tsp. salt 1/2 cup cold water or broth Preheat the oven to 350 F. Spray a cookie sheet with non-stick cooking spray. Mix all ingredients well. Roll out on a lightly floured surface and cut with doggie cutters or use a pizza cutter or knife to cut into serving size bars. You can also pinch off pieces and roll into balls, place on the cookie sheet and flatten with the bottom of a glass that has been dipped in flour. Bake biscuits for 35 to 40 minutes. Let them cool, then store in an airtight container. |
