Dump Cake

1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple
1 (20 ounce) can cherry pie filling
1 (18 ounce) box yellow cake mix, unprepared
3/4 cup butter, cut into pieces
1 cup chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Dump pineapples with juice into a 9 x 13 inch baking pan.   Spoon the cherry pie filling over the pineapple.
Sprinkle cake mix evenly over fruit.  Sprinkle pecans over all.
Distribute the pieces of butter evenly over the top..
Bake for one hour.
Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of ice  cream.
